Description
Caritas has introduced “mobile cafés” in
temporary housing areas in Ishinomaki and the
neighboring Higashi-Matsushima. The move from
crowded evacuation centers to private housing
results in dramatic changes for people. Having
left the centers, many people experience a new
level of loneliness and mixed feelings. Moving
forward with their lives is difficult. The café
service, set up in communal areas of housing,
provides an important service by providing
places where residents can get out of the house
to comfortably meet other people.
