A place to feel at ease
Description
Gradually, people started coming to the base not so much for supplies as for the opportunity to meet their neighbors and see how they were doing. So, Caritas placed chairs and tables in the
hall and started a free café. It is a place where people who have spent their days searching for missing family members or cleaning their homes can come and express their anger and sorrow and through communicating with others begin the process of healing their hearts. In addition, Caritas has begun a “mobile café” service at social centers in temporary housing facilities in order to provide even more people with places to feel at ease. Caritas has sponsored training workshops to equip local people with the listening skills needed for mental health care.
